In their own words, "Simply dine out at one of our many participating restaurants this August and 20 percent of the cost of your meal will be donated directly to NTFB in the Dallas area or Lena Pope in Tarrant County."
Lena Pope
Lena Hudson Pope began helping children as early as the 1930s. Their mission has never wavered. As they describe themselves, "Our 90 years of experience in child and family services guide our current efforts to improve child well-being here in Tarrant County. We use evidence-based, research-tested programs focused on prevention and early intervention services that support child development and improve the behavioral and mental health of children."
NTFB
The North Texas Food Bank began in 1982 as a way to alleviate hunger in struggling communities. From their website, "Today, NTFB continues the fight against hunger as a certified member of the Feeding America Food Bank Network. Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, solicits food and grocery products from national suppliers, distributes them through more than 200 food banks and provides food banks with operational support. It also educates the public and government officials about the ongoing problem of hunger."
